Fluke EMEA: perfectly located in Brabant
Founded in 1948, Washington-based Fluke Corporation has helped define and grow a unique technology market, providing testing and troubleshooting capabilities now critical to the manufacturing and service industries.
With distributor and manufacturer representative channels located in more than 100 countries, Fluke’s EMEA head office has been located in the village of Son, just outside Eindhoven, since 1993. This strategic location allows the global-market leader in the manufacture, distribution and service of electronic test tools and software to serve every country in the region.
Although 200 Fluke employees work in its EMEA head office near Eindhoven, hardly a word of Dutch is spoken there. “That is one of the reasons why we chose this location,” said Thieu Hofkes, Senior Director Human Resources EMEA. “We are in an international environment here in Brabant and international staff is easy to attract here.”
Language is particularly important in Fluke’s Eindhoven office because it houses the European call center. Electronic experts in almost every EMEA country order their equipment from Son by phone or through the internet. The Eindhoven office also provides full logistical services and is the financial services center for Fluke EMEA.
The logistical capabilities available in Brabant were also an important consideration in Fluke’s decision to locate their EMEA head office in Son. “Its proximity to international highways and to major airports is very important to our operations,” Hofkes said. “This was the case when we first arrived, and it is still the case today. Fluke EMEA is perfectly located in Brabant.”
